Hello, everyone! I'd like to share with you my newest felt creation: love bear. I made it to celebrate Valentine's Day. I hadn't been making any felt crafts in ages, so it was a fresh restart. I'm glad I still remember how to do the stitches :D
To make this felt love bear you will need:
- felt love bear pattern (you can download it at the end of this post)
- felt fabric, any colour you like
- sewing needles
- embroidery or sewing thread, the same colours as your chosen felt fabric
- scissors
- beads for the eyes
- stuffing
- fabric glue or hot glue gun
- a pen or pencil
First, cut out each part of the pattern. You will have the head and body, the arms, the ears and the nose of the bear, as well as the heart.
Next, trace each pattern onto felt. I used a gel pen as it's easier to use on felt fabric, but a pencil will work, too.
Next, cut out each part of the bear and the heart.
Start by stitching the message you want to deliver onto the front side of the heart. I simply made a simple message. I used a gel pen to write the message on the back side of the front heart, so it was easier to stitch it later.
Then, place the front and the back sides of the heart together. Stitch them together using the blanket stitch. Leave some opening to stuff the stuffing in, fill the heart with the stuffing and stitch the gap.
Take the front side of the bear. Stitch or glue the nose on the bear's face. I used black embroidery thread to stitch the snout and the mouth, but you can also use black felt fabric and stick it on the nose. Then, stitch the eyes on the face.
Insert the arms and ears between the bear's front and back sides. Stitch the two sides together. Leave some opening to stuff the bear in and stitch the gap.
Use fabric glue or a hot-glue gun to attach the heart to the bear's body, and the arms to the heart. You can also stitch them, but I find using a hot-glue gun a lot easier :D
